Your topic on Statistics & Logs is very helpful. I like the tip about password protecting each website's statistics by checking the second box for "password protected directory '/plesk-stat/'."
Thanks for explaining that it protects our webstats from prying eyes!

Dreamer and other's,
I recently found by accidentally not checking that box that kiddie scripts run hard and heavy against your Webalizer stats, trying to gleam any information they can find about your site and it's vulnerability. Why Plesk doesn't make it password protected either by default or mandatory is beyond me.
As it's not just a prying eyes problem but more likely a serious security issue.
I now consider it mandatory for all sites run Webalizer passworded or don't use it at all. _________________ This forum is made entirely of post consumer data bits... Piggie  |
